The face behind Hans Physiotherapy

My name is Hans van Gestel, born in the Netherlands and I moved to Scotland in November 2019.

I am a qualified physiotherapist with 10+ years experience. I’ve worked in several MSK clinics in the Netherlands, 3.5 years of this was in a specialist hand clinic after I finished the course to become a hand specialist physiotherapist.

Since my arrival in Scotland, I’ve worked for the NHS, and the last years I’ve been working as a senior therapist in the outpatient’s department. During this time, I’ve also gained my post graduate certificate in Hand Therapy.

​

Before I started physiotherapy, I’ve studied sports and education with a specialty in personal training. I've worked in diverse sport centres, and at an after school sports club care for primary aged children.  As an extra I have completed a sports massage course.

 

I like to spend my time outdoors on the bike or on adventures with my family. I’m also one of the drummers in the Forres and district Pipe Band.
